Specifically, Finnish or Swedish native speakers (preferred) to translate children's literature from English into the Finnish or Swedish languages.

translating various types of prose and verse literature from English into Swedish or Finnish,
correcting, adapting and adjusting texts according to direction provided by the editing team as well as the company's literary style,
giving in-depth suggestions and input regarding said market (Swedish, Finnish),
attending meetings where readings and the editing of texts is carried out,
offering knowledge concerning the cultural and societal specifics of said market (Swedish, Finnish).

Swedish or Finnish language proficient (preferably native speaker)
thorough knowledge of the English language (other languages are a plus)
a refined sense of literature and languages
awareness of cultural as well as other features of the target language
the ability to adapt your translation style to various genres
being in constant contact with the Swedish or Finnish language and their daily culture (including children’s customs, habits, ways, etc.) and applying the latter into texts as applicable
creative thinking, flexibility, resourcefulness, inventiveness
having experience with children’s literature (poetry and prose) is an advantage
extreme precision, being able to multitask (multiple projects at once), work efficiently under pressure and having the ability to handle short deadlines
localization – the self-initiative to offer suggestions for content improvement, so that texts are in complete compliance with the country’s target market (Swedish, Finnish)
being able to adapt to strict deadlines as releases are often tied to seasonal holidays.
